Harness Inspection Books - 25 Checklists

Carry out pre-use checks and spot potential faults before they develop into a more serious and costly defect. These safety checklists are designed to help improve safety, reduce maintenance costs and ensure compliance with legal responsibilities. Inspections of PPE plays a key role in protecting the technicians who use it. It is important in ensuring the continued safety of those using life saving equipment. Correct and thorough inspection also ensures that organisations are compliant and not left open to litigation. There should never be any doubt about the continued serviceability of an item of equipment.

Pre-use checks are essential and should be carried out each time, by a competent person, before the product is used. Pre-use checks should be tactile and visual and the whole item should be subject to the check. A visual check should be undertaken in good light and will normally take a few minutes. Each check book contains 25 individual checklists relating to structure of a fall arrest harness. These checks should be completed before the harness is used. Duplicate carbon copies of the completed checklists are retained in the book for management records. The book also includes useful guidance notes to remind operatives what to look for during their inspection.
